Lux® Cellulose-3 is an alternative to CHIRALCEL OJ-H and is a cellulose ester cellulose tris(4-methylbenzoate). This variant cellulose methylbenzoate derivative offers unique chiral recognition abilities that provide entioseparation when other phases fail. The supramolecular structure of chiral groove and cavities provides more versatile functional and steric conditions, to give stronger interactions and better chiral recognition. Additionally, the selectors constituents contribute to hydrogen bonding, dipole, and P-P interactions that all affect the CSPs ability to separate enantiomers completely.
